Porsche Celebrates Motorsport Heritage at Monterey Classic Car Weekend

Porsche is always looking for different ways to promote and showcase their new cars to the people and they also enjoy celebrating some of their top cars. Recently, Porsche celebrated its iconic 911 sports car along with the 918 RSR concept at the 2011 Monterey Classic Car Weekend. Both the cars are really iconic to Porsche and have received good response from the people for the kind of technology and performance that they have. Like always, Porsche Zentrum is the central area where people can come and experience this tradition for the weekend.

The Porsche Zentrum is located at Quail Lodge and it has some great features like full line display and even consumer test drive program. Apart from this, Porsche has decided that they will even display another at The Quail, A Motorsport Gathering which will be held on Friday, August 19 and even on Peter Hay Hill at Pebble Beach on Thursday, August 18. The display that will be held on Peter Hay Hill will have various historic 911 cars for display which will also include the 1979 935 from Brumos Collection. It is believed that this 935 is the only remaining car that has never been modified.

The display will also have other top cars like 911 S that was driven by Hurley Haywood to 10 Camel GT race during 1972. Apart from this there are other cars like 2011 911 GT3 Cup Car from the Porsche Sport Driving School. It will also have Gunnar Racing 911 GT1 that won the Le Mans in 1998 and 2011 911 GT3 RS 4.0. The display will also highlight the 918 RSR Concept car which is one of the best technically advanced car under Porsche at the moment. The car is based on 911 GT3 Hybrid and 918 Spyder making this car a true race laboratory.
